About Us

We are a Scottish charity providing a link for people returning from prison to the community in Inverclyde. We are also a link for people who are involved with the criminal justice system in other ways.

Mission Statement
To support people on a journey to desistance, from imprisonment to community
Our Vision
To prevent and relieve poverty and other disadvantage
To reduce loneliness and isolation
To build resilience and promote better social and mental wellbeing
What support do we provide?

We walk with participants as they gradually build trust in others and the community. We advocate on our participants’ behalf, helping to access the resources they need. We work closely with local partners and relevant agencies while supporting participants to navigate this period of transition from prison to community.

Our staff and volunteers aim to be a non-anxious presence in our participants’ lives. We aim to be good listeners, non-controlling and non-judgmental – supporting people to manage the challenges they face in a different way.
Join Us!

We are committed in working together with participants, tailoring person-centred plans to meet the needs of the individual and support change.

Anyone who supports our aims can become a member of I FIT. It is completely free, and you get to have a say in how we are run, at our AGM.
